Mining work

 

Gujarat Mineral Development corporation Limited(GMDC) a Government of Gujarat Enterprise is a pioneer organization in the field of mining for more than four decades, catering to the needs of the minerals and solid fuel for the industries based in and outside Gujarat. GMDC’s mining activities are spread over inKutch,Jamnagar,Bharuch,Baroda,Banaskantha,Surat and Panchmahal districts of the State. It is currently dealing in minerals like Bauxite,Flurospar, Magnese, Ball clays,Silica sand and Lignite.

 

The Corporation is operating Lignite mines at Panandhro and Mata-no-Madh in Kutch and at Tadkeshwar in Surat District. The demand of lignite is growing fast in spite of tough competition from imported coal and natural gas.

 

LOCATION OF MINES

 

PANANDHRO

 

The Lignite mining lease area is located in villages Panandhro,Khanot and Fulra of Lakhpat Taluka in Kutch district of the State. The Project is located about 15 Kms from village Gaduli on the Bhuj-Narayansarovar State highway. It is 22 Kms from Dayapar the taluka headquarter.

 

This mine is in operation since last over 30 years and its average lignite production at present is about to 6 million tones per year.

 

MATA-NO-MADH

 

The Project is located in villages Mata-no-Madh,Denama,Dedrani and Lifri of Lakhpat and Nakhatrana talukas in Kutch district of the State. The Project is located about 90 Kms from Bhuj and 40 Kms from Nakhatrana on Bhuj-Narayan Sarovar State highway.

 

This mine is in operation since last five year and is producing annually over 5.5 lac tones lignite.

 

MINING WORK

 

The work involves mining/excavation of all lignite seams of thickness 0.30 m and above and loading of consumers trucks with lignite at both the Projects.

 

The period of the contract is of 2 years (24 months) . The mining work at both the Projects to be carried as per the quantities as follows:-

 

Panandhro Mines:- 25 Lac Tones lignite mining (50 lac Tonnes in two years)

 

Mata-no-Madh-6 Lac Tonnes lignite mining (12 Lac tones in two years)

 

EQUIPMENTS & MACHINERY

 

For executing the work we have deployed Crawler mounted hydraulic excavators of 0.9 to 2.5m3 bucket capacities as per the requirement of the Contract terms. Also skilled manpower has been deployed for the proper execution of the work.
