The Company was carved out of the main entity in the year 1996 to manage the exclusive dump of “Hathi” brand cement manufactured by M/ s Saurashtra Cements Limited (a Mehta Group Company), our oldest principal and one of the most respected companies in the state of Gujarat. The combination of trading by the parent Company and Shree Jay Handling being the exclusive C & F Agent for Kutch (the third largest inhabited district of India), has made “Hathi” brand today a household name in this part of India. Since the Financial Year 2001- 02, the Company is slowly phasing out its activity of sale of cement and concentrating more on the management of the dump. The Company is in the process of consolidating its position.
Later on, in the year 1999, Shree Jay Handling has added
one more feather to its cap by setting up a division of foreign money
exchange to cater to the high population of NRIs. Under the patronage
of these NRIs, the Foreign Money exchange division- manned by just ONE
person- boasts of a regular annual turnover of around INR 5 million. The
figure below speaks volume of our employees and promoters.
