| The
unit produces adequate power for its own industrial (clinker plant,
grinding unit, water desalination plant and jetty) requirement as
well as its colony and numerous other users for which sun dried
lignite is the sole raw material. The entire transport contract
of carrying lignite from the GMDC, Panandhro mines to Sanghipuram
(about 35 Km) is the responsibility of our Company.. Every day 400
to 450 trucks reach Sanghipuram from Gujarat Mineral Development
Corporation Limited, Panandhro Mines. The entire quantity is unloaded
at the lignite yard. After sun drying- the moisture quantity in
the lignite from mines is about 35- 40%, which comes down to about
20% after sun drying- the lignite is transported to the clinker
plant hopper. The power plant is about 14 Km from the lignite yard.
Feeding the sun dried lignite to the clinker plant hopper is a continuous
process and is stopped only when the plant is shut down for maintenance/
technical snag.
The Company has been executing this work with aplomb for the last
two years. This relentless work (24 X 7 X 365) is possible by employing
some 400 sub contracted trucks every day with precise co- ordination
between our Panandhro and Sanghipuram branches. |
