Lignite (Soft brownish coal with high ash content; the origin of the word is from Latin word ‘lignum’ meaning ‘wood’) is used extensively by coal based power plants and cement plants. Almost all our customers of lignite use it for these purposes only. The Bhuj transport division transports about 30, 000 MT of lignite every month to our various customers. Besides our own trucks, a lot of sub contracted trucks are used for lignite transportation. Normally, the lignite transport contracts with our customers are long term ones extending up to 1 year or more for most of our valued customers. The Company prides itself in retaining the contract with our esteemed customers year after year as the Company has been able to maintain a very good rapport with M/ s Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC)- the supplier of lignite- as well as the end users- our customers.
