The Company follows a centralized purchase and inventory system
with stock transfers taking place from Bhuj central stores to branches
at Mundra and Sanghipuram.The Bhuj, transport division also manages
our diesel pump which has been set up for our own consumption with
HSD from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC). The division is headed
by one of the most efficient and enterprising personality- Mr. Laxmanbhai
Raghvani.The activity of the Bhuj transport division can be summarised
as below.
* Takes Care of own 40 trucks
* Normal route of SVCT trucks considered as a single trip: 1.
Bhuj? GMDC, Panandhro (empty), GMDC, Panandhro ? Bhuj (Lignite)?
Porbandar (unloads lignite, loads dust/ coal/ limestone as a S/
C to other transporters)? Jamnagar? Sikka (unloads at DCC factory,
loads DCC cement)? Jamnagar? Bhuj (unloads cement)
* Issues Loading Slips to Trucks going to GMDC, Panandhro mines
with fixed advance to driver + fixed quantity (up & down Bhuj?
Panandhro? Bhuj) of diesel slip
* Sometimes these trucks carry load from Bhuj on their way to
Panandhro. For such cases more advances are paid.
* Panandhro office records the arrival of SVCT Trucks. Also records
departure time after trucks are loaded. Daily report (Date, truck
no., MT, Time of Arrival & Departure from Pan) comes to Bhuj
through fax.
* Each truck is checked at Bhuj office before departure to &
after arrival from GMDC, Panandhro mines for availability of repair
kit/ oil/ water/ air/ tyre, etc.
* Upon arrival at Bhuj, the lignite loaded trucks collect delivery
notes for the respective customers.
* Along with delivery note also collects fixed advance and diesel
slip for fixed quantity (up & down) for respective destinations.
* While leaving from HO, gets information for return trip load.
If not available at the time, calls up HO after unloading &
gets instruction (Vehicles never allowed to come back empty).
- Both destinations & cargoes are variable.
* If the destination is before Bhuj, first unloads then reports
at HO, else first reports at HO, then goes for unloading.
* Upon reporting at HO, returns the customer acknowledged delivery
note.
* If vehicle breaks down on the way, gets advance once again.
